About School Facts UK

A free, complete and honest reference for every school in England, built directly from the official data.

What it is

Every state and independent school in England — 23,891 of them — with exam results, Ofsted outcomes, pupil numbers, intake and the Census picture of the surrounding neighbourhood. No account, no paywall, no data withheld to sell back to you.

What it will not do

• Rank schools that cannot fairly be ranked. Independent schools mostly enter international GCSEs that the performance tables do not count, and special schools serve pupils the measures were never designed for. Both are listed in full; neither is scored against mainstream state schools.
• Draw catchment maps. Catchments are set per school, per year, by the number of applicants. A fixed boundary on a map is either last year's cut-off or an invention. We show real distance instead, and point you at the school's own admissions arrangements.
• Print an Ofsted badge as if it were current. Overall grades ended in September 2024. Every grade here is dated and labelled.
• Collect reviews. A handful of self-selected parent ratings tells you less than the intake data does.

Corrections

Figures come from the source files unchanged; where a school's own record is wrong, the fix has to happen in the DfE register and will flow through here at the next update.
